Meditation Verse: Psalm 28 “Be our shepherd and carry us forever” & Psalm 29 “May the Lord bless His people with peace.”
I am on holiday next week so have combined the next 2 weeks into one blog.
I have been listening to Faithful One over the past week and felt it appropriate for Psalms 28 & 29 where David is under attack and leans heavily on God. In Psalm 28 David talks about people whose words don’t match their hearts. I find this challenging and every morning I ask that I may show love and compassion in the day ahead both to others and myself. Interestingly, if a sticky situation crops up I often say to myself, “now was that showing love and compassion Fiona?” I find it helps to moderate my responses and keep calm!
In Psalm 29 we are worshipping our creator God in the most stormy way:
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c]
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
As I travel to spend the week on the south west coast with a questionable forecast I shall be reminded of this images as I watch the wind and the waves. Hope you have a peaceful couple of weeks and I’ll let you know how it goes when I get back no doubt!!
