Meditation Verse: Psalm 24 “The earth is the Lord’s”
A few weeks ago Mark and I travelled to London to visit the Moon Landings & Apollo immersive experience, during this we saw the famous earthrise photo taken from the moon. Never had our planet been seen by humans in this way before, and it was a moment where the environment of our precious earth became important to so many people. I like to imagine God gazing on our earth and each one of us on it like a loving parent. Remember the Sunday school song “He’s got the whole world in His hands.”
If you have time, read Psalm 104 for more on this theme:
“1 Bless the Lord, O my soul.
O Lord my God, you are very great.
You are clothed with honour and majesty,
2 wrapped in light as with a garment.
You stretch out the heavens like a tent,
3 you set the beams of your[a] chambers on the waters,
you make the clouds your[b] chariot,
you ride on the wings of the wind,
4 you make the winds your[c] messengers,
fire and flame your[d] ministers.
5 You set the earth on its foundations,
so that it shall never be shaken.
6 You cover it with the deep as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
In times of struggle, remember the earth and everything on it are the Lord’s, including you!
