Meditation Verse: Psalm 25 “My soul shall abide in wellbeing”

As you are probably aware if you follow Renew Wellbeing regularly, we believe the Hebrew word Shalom also translates as wellbeing, here is a short quote from Ruth in Slow Down, Show Up & Pray 2021:

“Real shalom at the core of creation, is a work of a lifetime, of eternity for God, and therefore in our own lives and community it is less a commodity to be won and more a lifestyle to be lived together.”

This takes me to the lyrics of Horatio G. Spafford:

When peace like a river, attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul

It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul”

These were written in the face of adversity in his personal and business life and confirms my belief that wellbeing does not automatically mean happiness, it is possible to have wellbeing in the midst of the storm.  Whatever is going on for you today, have a look for wellbeing in it.  You may be surprised!
