Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 132 “You are the Lord’s dwelling place, forever.”

The word dwell meaning to remain, make yourself at home, to stay in a secure place.

Isaiah 32:18“My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”

A dwelling is a house, or a place of rest so how wonderful that God chooses to dwell in us.  I find it hard to imagine that God would want to dwell in me with all my flaws, so think how it must feel to the lonely, isolated, and rejected when they find a welcome smile and someone who is prepared to sit alongside them, perhaps for the first time that week in your Renew space.  As someone said to me recently, “this is kingdom work.”

Bless you as you dwell with God and others this week.

A Prayer from A-Z of Wellbeing, Ruth Rice.

Dwell in me

As I dwell in you

Great host of this table

In pastures new

Help me accept that you want in

You choose my home, my life

Despite my sin

And as I’m racing up and down

To try to smile and erase that frown

You whisper

I have come to dwell in you

Just as you are, so

Child, please come, sit down too.
