Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 130 “my soul waits for the Lord.”

I have never been very good at waiting, but I have certainly had to learn patience over the last few years.  At the beginning of this year, I had a mind whirling with ideas of what I should do next, in fact I was exhausted thinking about it when in a Sunday service at my home church, the children gave out cards that they had made in Sunday School the previous week.  When I opened mine which was beautifully decorated with flowers and leaves, the verse inside was Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  The message is so clear, it’s in there twice!  What a relief, it’s not all on me, the Lord has it in hand.  I pinned the card to my notice board so that I see it every day and remember to wait, not rush ahead.

Wait

For the Lord

But Lord, this is so hard

You do not know

How much I long

To see it happen straight away

Oh yes, I know

How hard it is to wait

I hear You say

I’ve waited

Am still waiting

For you to

Slow down

Show up

And pray

To come to me

To stay

Wait for me

As I wait for you

And I will take the weight

On me

And in this waiting room

You’ll be set free

From every weight

While you wait.
