Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 129 “The Blessing of the Lord be on you.”
I feel very blessed right now as tomorrow we are off on holiday to Cornwall and as I wrap things up neatly before going and make to do lists for my return, I look forward to re-connecting with my Renew family over the coming weeks as there is less in the diary.
As with many things in this life, getting to Cornwall from up North takes a bit of effort and a fair bit of horrid motorway driving, but the hard work is worth it when I hear the sea lapping against the harbour or shore for the first time and I’m in my happy place. Just as I find it helpful to have a special chair in the house where I do my morning prayers with my first coffee (usually surrounded by sleepy cats) it is good to have a special place to go to that gives an enormous sense of wellbeing where we can feel truly blessed. It doesn’t have to be miles away; it could be a local beauty spot or even a lovely garden centre. Can I encourage you to take time out from your busy schedule to go to the place where you can truly feel the blessing of the Lord and enjoy His creation?
Psalm 16: 6-9
6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance!
7 I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.[b]
My body rests in safety.
