Meditation Verse: Psalm 73 “God remains the strength of my heart.”
Reading the whole Psalm is interesting as it could have been written about our current world situation where the wicked seemingly prosper and the poorest suffer in various situations. The writer loses heart but is sustained by God’s strength. Halfway through the Psalm after spending time in God’s sanctuary the following is revealed:
16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I perceived their end.
18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
I’m not one for vengeance but it’s good to know that God hears our cries for justice even when our hearts may lack the faith to believe.
We regularly pray for peace in a variety of situations, but do we truly believe it is possible? Take heart this week!
