Meditation Verse: Psalm 72 “God alone does wondrous things.”

Alternative words for wondrous are, ‘astonishing’ ‘fascinating’ ‘miraculous’ and ‘wonderful’.  I have often told the story of my serious stroke at the age of 38 and my long, slow and miraculous recovery thanks to medical professionals, my own dogged determination and God’s miraculous healing.  As a child reading Bible stories of Jesus’ miracles, it often seems that these are instantaneous, I have learned that sometimes God’s miracles are a bit slower but still wondrous.  Over 15 years later I still find myself able to perform new tasks with my left hand that I haven’t done in ages and we have a little celebration! 

Psalm 72:

“¹⁸ Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
    who alone does marvellous deeds.
¹⁹ Praise be to his glorious name forever;
    may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.”
