Meditation Verse: Psalm 60 “With our God we shall do valiantly.”

To act valiantly means to be strong and courageous, this week’s Psalm reminds us that we can do this with the help of God.  I was not a courageous child, in fact I avoided any new and unfamiliar situation and was likely to panic when the spotlight fell on me – how things have changed!  New learning and pushing my boundaries gives me life these days and I wonder how much I missed out on this in my younger years.  My courage is most definitely God-given and I’m thankful every day for the role that I have been given in later life.  I am slowly realising that some of my old anxieties are still lurking in the background but I’m better equipped to deal with them these days, I read these passages this morning:

Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Psalm 37:23-24: “23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
24 Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

I hope these will be a comfort to you whether or not you are having an anxious day.
