Meditation Verse: Psalm 31 “My times are in your hands”

It is well known in my closer circles that I can be a bit impatient to get to the next thing.  This is great for getting things done but can lead to frustration.  I have had to learn over the past few years that things are in God’s timing, not mine!

At the moment I am looking forward to the Olympics and my trip to our Renew space in Northallerton tomorrow, so not too much longer to wait for either of those but as we approach August where the Renew team take a much-needed rest, I will try to slow down a bit so I have the energy needed for what the Autumn brings.  There are many verses in the Bible about waiting on God’s timing, one of which we will be reflecting on in this week’s retreat, Isaiah 40:31

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (ESV)

So let’s take comfort in knowing that God has everything in hand and to His timing, we can relax!
