Meditation Verse: Psalm 20 “We trust in the name of the Lord.”

In the Renew Wellbeing world, names are very important, we tell the story of a lady who shared that she made doctors appointments just to hear her name spoken.  I live in a fairly busy household and sometimes my shoulders drop when I hear my step son call my name (usually followed by “what’s for tea tonight?”).  But wouldn’t it be so much worse not to hear my name at all?  John 10 says:

“² But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. ³ The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁴ After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. ⁵ They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.”

If we spend quality time with Jesus each week we will recognise His voice and just as He knows our name, we can trust in His name.
