Meditation Verse: Psalm 12 “The words of the Lord are pure words.”

In another translation it says “The words of the Lord are flawless.”  In other words there is no fault in them.  I like to watch Antiques programmes, a habit picked up during my stroke recovery, a diamond or precious stone’s value can be badly affected if it contains a flaw, the most valuable stones are flawless. 

Are your words always flawless?  Our words are so important and can do immense harm if we are not careful, we should think carefully before we speak, we could ask ourselves “Is it kind? Is it true? Is it necessary?” or more importantly could you hear Jesus uttering these words?  If the answer is no then pause before you speak.  This is advice learnt the hard way by me, particularly when I was younger and a little more hot headed!
