Meditation Verse: Psalm 69 “Draw near to my soul.”
A while ago I was encouraged to think about my key values and pick five, one of these was thoughtfulness which leads to soulfulness. I often will describe an experience as “touching my soul”, this will be when I just think about nothing but the natural environment where I’m standing at that moment, it is a challenge to my busy mind to slow down and breath in the beauty of my surroundings but completely refreshing and comforting. I’m sure that in these moments we are a little bit closer to God and He draws near to our soul.
You don’t have to travel far to connect in this way, take a really close look at a dandelion growing out of a crack in the pavement and remember that the buzzing bee is just as attracted to what we call a weed as it is to a fabulous sunflower. Passers by may think you are a bit odd but take the time to let God’s creation and beauty lift your soul this Holy Week.
Luke 12. “27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.”
