Meditation Verse: Psalm 64 “Hear me O God.”

As some of you may know, Mark was suddenly seriously ill at the end of last year.  I only had time to run back and forward to the hospital and keep loved one’s up to date, so it’s fair to say my regular prayer rhythms took at bit of a hit!  Thankfully I knew my support network and Renew family held us in prayer through the worst of it but I did send the occasional cry for help to God at particularly tricky moments.  I’m confident that even when we don’t say the words in a particularly coherent way, God still hears us and understands what we need. In this Psalm David is under attack again and wants to reassure himself that God is listening.  I call these lightening prayers, when you just shoot up a very direct request in desperate times.

Psalm 34 says:

17 The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.”

This week, be comforted that God hears your prayers.
