Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 143 “let me hear in the morning, of Your steadfast love.”

So, what is steadfast love? According to the thesaurus, it’s “loyal, faithful, devoted, reliable, steady, unwavering and unshakable.” As usual, I am amazed by the depth of His love for us and encouraged to hear stories of this type of love being shown in our Renew Spaces.

I was brought up in a traditional Church setting where we sang the older hymns rather than worship songs so occasionally, I’m drawn back to an old favourite.  This week’s Psalm took me to the Hymn written by Samuel Trevor Francis “Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus.”  Here’s the first verse and a link to a video for you to enjoy.

“Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free,
rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fulness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of his love;
leading onward, leading homeward
to that glorious rest above.”
