Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 113 “From the rising of the sun to its setting, Praise His name.”

Like much of the country this week we awoke to a heavy blanket of snow this morning and with it, a certain stillness as the early morning commuters decided to stay at home and the school kids enjoy a rare snow day.  I have been thinking around the familiar phrase from Psalm 46 this week; “Be still and know that I am God.” It’s one that we use often in our Renew spaces to bring a moment of quiet at the start of our led prayer sessions.  Over the past two weeks I have been all over the North with work and at a conference with a pop up Renew space, so when have I been still and what does it mean to be truly still?  I found this definition recently:

“To rest in the comfort of the Lord irrespective of your circumstances.  The ability to totally rely on God.”

That’s quite a challenge, I would encourage us all to take a few moments this week just to be still and know that God has it covered!
