Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 106 “He is good”
Throughout my life so far, I have often made wrong decisions or reacted badly to situations, I am in no way perfect! I was mulling over some of this last night as I struggled to get to sleep and although I woke up feeling better having eventually dropped off, was still bothered this morning by thoughts that I could have done better in certain circumstances. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like this sometimes. As I have some free time this morning, I thought it would be nice to do some colouring in my journaling bible; I was drawn to the word ‘forgiven’ which took me to Psalm 103, the basis of our morning prayer; looking further down the psalm I read:
“8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
9 He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.
10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
13 The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
14 For he knows how weak we are;”
How good is our God?
