Weekly Meditation Verse: Psalm 104 “You renew the face of the earth”
I’m a day late posting my blog this week as I’ve just got back from the Fresh Streams Conference, and I’m taking time to rest and think about what I have heard over the past 3 days. Reading through my notes this morning, Psalm 68: 5-6 jumps out;
“Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
6 God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.”
We often talk about Renew being like a family and it is. I was talking to one of the young people in our local Renew CYF group and when I asked what she likes about it she said “it’s like having your own little family on a Friday night”. If we make people welcome, meet them where we are and bring them into our Renew family, I believe that we are fulfilling God’s desire set out in Psalm 68, this is bring God’s kingdom to our local communities – bless you for your part in renewing the face of the earth!
